The Popularity And Meaning Of Flower Tattoos

Today, tattoos are very popular among women and one of the more popular designs for women are flower designs. Flower design tattoos come in a wide variety of flowers and colors ad can take on a specific meaning to the person applying and receiving the tattoo.

Flowers generally evoke feelings of tenderness when one looks upon it. They are connected with nature and bring to mind beautiful feelings and thoughts. Each color of the flower tattoo can have its own special meaning. Therefore, a white color flower can symbolize purity and a red colored flower can signify a burning passion. Also, each type of flower can mean a specific thing and have a special meaning to the wearer.

The most commonly used flower design for tattoo is the rose. The meaning of the rose as tattoo is love. In the past the roses were tattooed to persons sentenced to death. Today it is different. The symbolism for the rose is passion, love, and purity. The rose is a flower given to the ones who we love as a symbol of our passion and purity.

In the eastern regions, the rose is not used as a flower which symbolizes such feelings. Instead, tattoos with design of a lotus were used for this purpose. But the meaning of the lotus is not only love and purity. The lotus symbolizes a lot of other things such as beauty, peace, goodness and fortune. And because of this the lotus tattoo is very popular.

Other flowers which are very popular for applying as tattoo are the acacia. This flower means love and friendship. There is also a flower called bells of Ireland. This flower is popular in Ireland and the meaning when applied is good luck. The tulip symbolizes the perfect lover. So, if you have seen somebody tattooed with tulip flower he thinks of himself as a perfect lover.

There are flower design tattoos and for those who think that are shy – the violet flower. The persons with violet flowers want taking things slow. Iris symbolizes wisdom and virtue and magnolias mean that the person who wears them has a love for nature.

Flower designs of tattoos are used a lot these days and this trend will continue in the future. So, when you choose a flower tattoo, it. has a lot to say to others. However, one can simply choose to wear a flower tattoo because it symbolizes beauty to them. Most of us have a favorite flower, and the wearing of it in the form of a tattoo might simply mean that we enjoy looking upon the beauty of it.
